The Japanese company Honda in mid-August 2016 officially declassified the tenth generation Civic hatchback on the Web in the specification for the North American market, the prototype of which in the person of the concept of the same name was presented in March at the Geneva exhibition. In the United States, the car will go on sale in September this year, but the Europeans will have to wait longer - the five-door will reach them only by the beginning of 2017, but first it will show off in front of the public at the stands of the October auto show in Paris.

Externally, the "tenth" Honda Civic in a five-door design is distinguished by an elegant and down-to-earth design with a frowning "face", a traditional silhouette and an average stern for the "golf" class. The car looks much more common than its predecessor, but it is definitely not a "simpleton" either.

The overall length of the tenth generation Civic is 4430 mm, and its width and height do not exceed 1800 mm and 1420 mm, respectively. The hatchback has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm from the outside.

The interior of the five-door has not yet been declassified, but, most likely, the Honda Civic 5D will share interior elements with the three-volume model.

This means that the car will receive an attractive and fashionable design, high-quality finishing materials, a complete set of modern "gadgets", a five-seat layout and a spacious luggage compartment (although the exact numbers are still unknown).

Specifications. In the North American market for the five-door version of "Civic" there is only a petrol 1.5-liter unit of the Earth Dreams VTEC Turbo family with direct fuel supply, turbocharging and 16-valve timing, which as standard generates 174 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 220 Nm of peak potential at 1700-5500 rpm.
But in the Sport and Sport Touring versions, its output is increased to 182 "horses" with constant torque.

By default, the engine is docked with a 6-speed "mechanics" and a front-wheel drive transmission, and optionally it relies on a continuously variable variator. How fast and economical the car will be - the Japanese have not yet reported.

For the countries of the Old World, the power palette will be more diverse: in addition to the 1.5-liter "four", the Europeans will be offered a 1.0-liter VTEC three-cylinder petrol turbo engine developing 128 "horses" and 200 Nm of thrust, and a 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine producing 120 forces and 300 Nm.

Structurally, Honda Civic Hatchback of the tenth incarnation repeats the four-door "brother": the car is built on a new modular platform, characterized by a wide use of high-strength and ultra-high-strength types of steel, with an independent chassis on both axles (MacPherson struts at the front and "four-link" at the rear).
In the "state", the hatchback has a "gear-rack" steering system with an adaptive electric booster and disc brakes of each of the wheels (ventilated on the front axle) with ABS, EBD and other electronics.

Options and prices. In the US, the tenth "release" of the Honda Civic in a five-door body will hit the market in September 2016 in LX, EX, EX-L, Sport and Sport Touring trim levels (prices are not yet known), in Europe it is expected only in early 2017. But the car will not reach our country in the foreseeable future.
Depending on the version, the hatchback will be able to boast full LED optics, adaptive cruise, a multimedia system with support for Android Auto and Apple Car, frontal collision warning technology, heated front and rear seats, a scattering of airbags and a host of other relevant "chips".
