The seventh generation Ford Fiesta hatch debuted at a special event "Go Further" for dealers and journalists in Cologne on November 29, 2016, not only in standard and "sporty" versions, but also in a fundamentally new for itself - "all-terrain" performance, called "Active".

This SUV is expected to enter the European markets in early 2018 ...

The appearance of the Ford Fiesta Active, compared to the standard model, is embellished with "armor" made of unpainted plastic along the lower outlines of the body and roof rails, but this is not limited to the differences: the car also "flaunts" a hexagonal "shield" of the radiator grille with a fine-mesh structure and slightly increased ground clearance ...

The overall dimensions of the cross-version of the seventh generation "Fiesta" have not yet been announced, but they should not differ greatly from those of the usual "brother", which is 4040 mm in length (the wheelbase accounts for 2493 mm), 1495 mm in height and 1734 mm wide.

Inside, with the exception of the contrasting "decor" on the front panel, doors and seats, Ford Fiesta Active completely repeats the hatch in the standard version: solid and laconic design, a bunch of modern "bells and whistles" and high-quality finishing materials. Car and cargo-passenger capabilities are identical.

Specifications. Under the hood of the "all-terrain" version of the "Fiesta" will be located the same engines as the base model.
The hatchback will be driven by gasoline atmospheric and turbocharged "triplets" with a volume of 1.0-1.1 liters, producing from 70 to 140 horsepower, and diesel four-cylinder turbo engines of 1.5 liters, having from 85 to 120 "horses" in their bins.
The arsenal of transmissions includes 5- and 6-speed "mechanics" and a 6-speed "automatic" with the ability to shift gears using paddle shifters (provided only for a 100-horsepower unit).

Technically, the Ford Fiesta Active does not differ from the standard "brother" - front-wheel drive architecture with independent frontal and semi-independent rear travel (McPherson struts and an elastic beam, respectively), electric power steering, as well as ventilated brake "pancakes" in the front and drum mechanisms at the rear (on versions more powerful than 100 "Mares" - disk).

The cross-version of "Fiesta" of the seventh incarnation will begin to conquer the countries of the Old World in 2018, but whether it will "reach" the Russian market is still not known for certain. With regard to standard and optional equipment, the "all-terrain" hatch will receive the same rich functionality as the regular model.
