The compact SUV Chery Tiggo 5 entered the market at the end of 2013, but already in the fall of 2015, the company decided on an unscheduled update (due to unimportant sales statistics in the Middle Kingdom). But the restyled version of the crossover reached the Russian market only in December 2016.
The upgrade, aimed at attracting the attention of young people to the model, affected only the exterior and interior decoration, leaving the technical part without attention.
And outwardly, the updated Chery Tiggo 5 has changed minimally - although it began to look fresher and prettier. The SUV got modern lighting equipment with LED elements, re-cut bumpers, and a new radiator grill.
The overall dimensions of the Chinese "five" remained "pre-reform": 4506 mm in length, 1841 mm in width and 1740 mm in width with a wheelbase of 2610 mm. In the "combat" state, the vehicle's ground clearance is 190 mm. And the mass of which varies from 1495 to 1537 kg.
The interior of Chery Tiggo 5, after restyling, has become more beautiful and youthful, and all thanks to a new multimedia complex with a large screen, a color board of an on-board computer in the instrument cluster and an expanded range of color schemes for finishing.
In terms of other parameters, everything has remained the same - modern design, verified ergonomics and high-quality finishing materials.
The decoration of the crossover is five-seater, and there is enough space in both the first and second rows of seats.
The luggage compartment of the updated Tiggo 5, depending on the position of the back of the "gallery", holds from 370 to 1000 liters of luggage, but this is taking into account the full-size "spare" in the underground.
Specifications. The Chery Tiggo 5 is powered by an atmospheric gasoline engine "SQR484F" of the "Acteco" family with a volume of 2.0 liters (1971 cubic centimeters), which meets the environmental standards "Euro-5". The inline-four, equipped with a 16-valve DOHC timing belt, intake phase shifters and multi-point power, generates 136 horsepower at 5750 rpm and 182 Nm of available torque at 4500 rpm.
In tandem with the engine, a “mechanics” with five gears or a continuously variable CVT (the traction in both cases goes to the front wheels) is installed.
In running disciplines, the SUV from the Celestial Empire does not shine: the capabilities of the five-door do not exceed 165-175 km / h, and the aspiration to the first "hundred" fits in 12.8-15 seconds.
In mixed mode, depending on the modification, the car "eats" from 8.2 to 9.8 liters of fuel per 100 km of run.
The updated "five" is built on the iAuto platform with an independent arrangement of the front and rear suspension - McPherson struts and double wishbones, respectively.
The rack and pinion steering mechanism on the Chery Tiggo 5 FL is equipped with a hydraulic power steering (only "in the luxury" electric), and all wheels are equipped with disc brakes (ventilated on the front axle) with ABS and EBD.
Options and prices. In the Russian market, you can buy Chery Tiggo 5 FL (2017 model year) in three trim levels - "Standart", "Comfort" and "Luxury".
