The VAZ-2112 hatchback, which entered serial production in 1999, became the final link in the "tenth" family. The car stood on the conveyor until 2008, when the choice was made in favor of the "older" model Lada Priora.

Unlike the sedan and the station wagon, this is where the five-door story ended, since its assembly at the plant of the Bogdan corporation was never launched.

In appearance, the "twelfth" looks prettier than the three-volume model, which is facilitated by the reduced overhang of the trunk and the rapidly swung forward rear roof pillar, due to which the feed is perceived as more organic and less heavy. Although the general weighty proportions inherent in all models of the family have not gone anywhere.

According to the external outlines of the body, the VAZ-2112 is a typical B-class hatchback: length - 4170 mm, width - 1680 mm, height - 1420 mm with a distance between the axles of 2489 mm. In the curb position, the hatchback weighs from 995 to 1060 kg, and its ground clearance is fixed at 171 mm.

Inside, the "twelfth" is similar to Lada 110 in all respects: architecture and design, quality of finishing materials and workmanship, as well as formally a five-seat layout with wide front seats and a fairly comfortable second row of seats.

The luggage compartment of the VAZ-2112 in its normal position can hold up to 399 liters of luggage. The back of the "gallery" is folded in parts in a 2: 1 ratio, which allows transporting bulky items (the volume increases to 730 liters). In a niche under the raised floor, the hatchback has a standard set - a full-fledged "spare wheel" and the necessary tool.

Specifications. For Lada 112, a line of in-line petrol "fours" was offered, familiar from the "ten".
Initially, the car was equipped with a 1.5-liter unit with a carburetor power system with a capacity of 73 horsepower and a return of 109 Nm, but it was quickly replaced by 8- and 16-valve engines with multipoint injection of 1.5-1.6 liters, generating 79-90 "mares" and 109 -131 Nm of torque.

In tandem with the engines, "mechanics" were put in five steps and a front-wheel drive transmission, as a result of which the hatchback can accelerate to the first 100 km / h in 12-14 seconds, peak 170-185 km / h and "eat" from 7.3 to 8 liters in a combined cycle.

Technically, the VAZ-2112 is indistinguishable from a related sedan - it is based on a front-wheel drive "bogie" with an independent suspension of the MacPherson type at the front and a semi-independent scheme with a torsion beam at the rear.
The steering system is represented by a rack and pinion mechanism, and the brake package is formed by discs on the front wheels and "drums" on the rear wheels.

The advantages and disadvantages of the hatchback are almost identical to those of the sedan and station wagon.

Prices. In the secondary market of Russia in 2015, the VAZ-2112 hatchback is offered at a price of 80,000 to 200,000 rubles (although in some cases the cost may go beyond these limits).
