Zotye Z300 is a front-wheel drive budget golf-class sedan (aka the C segment by European standards, which combines an attractive design, good technical "stuffing", a decent level of equipment and a relatively affordable price ...

The official debut of this three-volume car took place in April 2012 - on the catwalks of the Beijing International Motor Show, and soon after this event its sales began in the Chinese market ... Since the fall of 2013, the production of the car started at the Belarusian Unison plant, but to Russian buyers it “ arrived ”with a great delay - only in March 2016.

The exterior design of the Zotye Z300 is almost completely copied from the Toyota Allion design, and the only differences are in the emblem.

The car looks attractive and interesting, and the modern silhouette, solid dimensions and correct proportions create a harmonious and complete image.

The Zotye Z300 concept can be described with the following words: "large C-class sedan" (almost D-class). This is evidenced by its dimensions: the length of the car is 4565 mm, height - 1486 mm, width - 1766 mm. The car has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm, and above the road it "stretches on a dais" 150 mm (ground clearance).

In the "stowed" form, the four-door weighs from 1350 to 1400 kg (depending on the modification), and its total weight varies from 1650 to 1700 kg.

The interior of the Sino-Belarusian three-volume box has a neat, laconic and austere design, it is devoid of obvious flaws in terms of ergonomics and strange solutions: all the keys are located logically and traditionally. The uncomplicated instrument panel is easy to read and informative.

The center console contains a radio tape recorder with a USB connector and three air conditioning knobs (in the "top" trim levels it is also a touchscreen display of the multimedia system). Fitting and assembly of interior panels is verified, but the plastic is frankly budgetary.

The Zotye Z300 has front seats with a "flat" profile, which makes for a measured ride. The rear sofa "flaunts" a large amount of space on all fronts, and it will easily accept three adult riders (one of the advantages is the missing transmission tunnel).

The luggage compartment of the Zotye Z300 has 457 liters and is endowed with opportunities for transformation - the back of the second row fits separately, but it does not come out completely flat. Underground - a full-fledged spare wheel. At the same time, there were some drawbacks - the hinges protrude into the trunk, the threshold is high and the superstructures at the wheel arches narrow the opening into the salon.

In the Russian market, the Zotye Z300 is offered with two petrol four-cylinder "aspirated" engines to choose from:

  • The base version is a 1.5-liter (1499 cc) Mitsubishi 4A91S engine with multipoint injection, 16-valve DOHC timing and variable valve timing, which generates 112 horsepower at 6000 rpm and 143 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm / minute.
  • An alternative to it is a 1.6-liter (1590 cubic centimeters) Mitsubishi 4A92S engine with a multi-point "power supply" system, 16 valves and variable valve timing technology, producing 122 hp. at 6000 rpm and 151 Nm of peak thrust at 4000 rpm.

The first unit is combined with a 5-speed "mechanics" and front-wheel drive transmission, and the second - only with a 4-band "automatic".

In the "junior" version, acceleration to the first "hundred" of the sedan takes 12.9 seconds, and its peak speed is 172 km / h.

In mixed mode, it uses an average of 6.7 liters of fuel per 100 km.

As for the more powerful version, its "indicators" are not announced.

The Zotye Z300 is based on a front-wheel drive platform from Toyota Allion, and the chassis is represented by an independent layout at the front (MacPherson struts) and a semi-independent layout at the rear (torsion beam).

The car's steering is represented by a gear-rack mechanism, which is supplemented by a hydraulic booster. All four-door wheels are equipped with disc brakes (ventilated at the front) with ABS and EBD: on the front axle - 274 mm, and on the rear - 259 mm.

In the Russian market, the Zotye Z300 in 2018 is sold in a single "Elegan" configuration at a price of 599,990 rubles - this is how much they ask for a modification with a 1.5-liter engine (the version with a 1.6-liter engine and automatic transmission costs 80,000 rubles more).

The standard version of the car includes: front airbags, LED lights, 15-inch steel wheels, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, four power windows, an audio system with two speakers, air conditioning, ABS, EBD, ESP and some other equipment.
