The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is an all-wheel drive hybrid premium D-segment station wagon (by European standards), which is addressed to wealthy people who already have one or two cars and live in their own home who want to "help" nature a little (without sacrificing driving pleasure) ...

The second generation of the Volvo V60 hybrid "shed" first appeared before the general public on February 21, 2018 - at a special event organized in the driveway of a "typical" family home in Stockholm.

Compared to its predecessor, this car has radically improved in all parameters - from design to technical "stuffing".

Outside, the "second" Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid looks beautiful, progressive, balanced and pedigree, and outwardly almost literally repeats the standard "brother" - its hybrid essence is given out only by the charging hatch located on the front fender.

The overall length of the petrol-electric station wagon is 4761 mm, and its width and height do not exceed 1850 mm and 1427 mm, respectively. The wheelbase at the five-door is 2872 mm, and its ground clearance is 128 mm.

The interior of the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid of the second generation is a “blueprint” from the interior of a conventional V60 with small inclusions of a hybrid modification (for example, buttons that control the choice of driving mode).

Car and cargo-passenger capabilities are completely identical: five-seater "apartments" with comfortable seats in both rows and a luggage compartment with a volume of 529 to 1364 liters.

For the Volvo V60 rechargeable hybrid, two modifications are announced, each of which is equipped with a 117-horsepower electric motor that rotates the rear wheels, a 10.4 kWh lithium-ion battery located in a massive central tunnel (they differ only in the petrol part), and an 8-band " automatic ":

  • Basic variant T6 Twin Engine AWD is equipped with a four-cylinder turbocharged 2.0-liter with direct injection, generating 253 hp, and in total has in its arsenal 340 horsepower and 590 Nm of torque.
  • More powerful version T8 The Twin Engine AWD contains a 2.0-liter "four" under the hood, which produces 303 hp, and its peak output is 390 horsepower and 640 Nm of torque.

From a constructive point of view, the “second” Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid does not differ from a standard station wagon: a modular SPA “trolley” based on a front double-lever and a rear multi-link (with a transverse composite spring), electric power steering and disc brakes on all wheels with a bunch of modern assistants.

Optionally, the five-door is equipped with air suspension with adaptive shock absorbers.

The world premiere of the hybrid Volvo V60 of the second generation will take place in March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show, and its sales in the countries of the Old World will begin in September of the same year (trim levels and prices will become known closer to that moment).

As for the equipment, in terms of this parameter, the gasoline-electric one will almost completely repeat the usual "brother".
